BS7858 Security Standard Information(Security Guard)

Turnaround time: Limited screening completed within 72 hrs, average completion within 30 days

Is a code of practice set by the BSI which provides an employment screening standard for companies looking to meet the high standards required for candidates working in a secure or high-risk environment. A set standard for the Fire and Security Industry, but the blue ribbon standard for most checks within the UK. This standard also confirms the validity of the SIA licence held by the employee.

BS7858 Security Standard With Basic DBS Information

Turnaround time: Limited screening completed within 72 hrs, average completion within 30 days

Is a code of practice set by the BSI which provides an employment screening standard for companies looking to meet the high standards required for candidates working in a secure or high-risk environment. A set standard for the Fire and Security Industry, but the blue ribbon standard for most checks within the UK. The basic DBS is for non SIA licenced individuals that also work internally within your organisation, so if they don’t have an SIA licence you will require this package. This is also the Blue Ribbon British screening package used by many organisations.

BS7858 Standard With Enhanced DBS Information

Turnaround time: Limited screening completed within 72 hrs, average completion within 30 days

A set standard for the Fire and Security Industry, but the blue ribbon standard for most checks within the UK. If the individual is coming into contact with vulnerable children or adults on a one to one basis and will be in regular contact you will require the enhanced DBS package.

BPSS Security Standard Information

A Baseline Personnel Security Standard, mostly known as a BPSS is a government framework for screening. This is a legal requirement for all UK civil servants, members of the Armed Forces and any employees or contractors working with or for the Government. The BPSS is also a reputable standard for pre-employment screening across many other industries as it provides assurance of an individual’s background.

FCA Screening Standard Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 30 days

The FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) regulates over 50,000 organisations and aims to ensure that financial markets are honest, fair and effective. As part of this, the FCA requires everyone who holds a position of responsibility within the financial sector to become an “approved person.” “Fit and Proper” Test – this ensures that the candidate can meet and maintain the required criteria for approval (and report anything that could affect ongoing suitability)

PCI Screening Standard Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 15 days

Enables your organisation to satisfy the requirement of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) for your employees, contractors or temporary staff. The goal of the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is to protect cardholder data wherever it is processed, stored or transmitted. The security controls and processes required by PCI DSS are vital for protecting cardholder account data, including the primary account number printed on the front of a payment card and any other sensitive data that is printed on a card, or stored on a card’s magnetic stripe or chip.

Very Low Risk Role Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 2 – 3 days

Screenings designed for individuals with very low risk to the business and need to be onboarded quickly, Or can be used as a top-up/rescreen.

Low Risk Role Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 5 – 7 days

An entry level screening package which ensures you have completed additional compliance checks on new employees covering you risk and reputation for your company and your clients.

Medium Risk Role Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 10 – 15 days

A screening package for employees that may hold key roles within your business (e.g. Finance, Compliance etc).

High Risk Role Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 20 – 25 days

A screening package specifically for individuals at manager level and above, and are key decision makers within the business ensuring your company and client risk and reputation is fully protected.

Driving Licence Check

Turnaround time: Average completion within 1 – 2 days

Ensuring you comply with the Driving licence checks if you have vehicles or the employee has access to your vehicles is a must. We will confirm all details on the driving licence including any adverse driving details.

Basic DBS Check Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 2 – 3 days

A Basic CRB Check is a check of any conditional cautions and unspent convictions, under the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. A Basic CRB Check can be obtained by anyone living or looking to live and work in England and Wales.

Digital Right To Work Information

Turnaround time: Average completion within 2 – 3 days

As of 6th April 2022, the Government updated Right to Work guidance for UK Employers. This update has introduced a new Digital Scheme which allows employers to remotely verify the identity of people with applicable documents using an Identity Service Provider (IDSP). This has replaced the Covid-adjusted Right to Work guidance which ended on 1st October 2022.

All employers in the UK have a legal responsibility to prevent illegal working and must complete right to work checks on every person they hire. You do this by conducting right to work checks before you employ someone in line with Home Office guidance.

If a business is found guilty of employing someone whom you knew or had ‘reasonable cause to believe’ did not have the right to work in the UK, they could receive fines of up to £20,000 for each illegal worker and a 5-year prison sentence, as well as an unlimited fine.
